Guiness World Record Sailing Ship Stops in Ibiza
The Royal Clipper, one of the world’s largest sailing ships, made an impressive appearance in Ibiza on October 6 after arriving from Maó. The luxury vessel measures 134 metres in length, features five masts and 42 sails, and can accommodate around 227 passengers.
Operated by Star Clippers, the ship was recognised by Guinness World Records in 2001 as the world’s largest square-rigged sailing ship in service. Its design draws inspiration from the historic German sailing vessel Preussen, a five-masted ship launched in 1902.
The Royal Clipper’s stay in Ibiza was short-lived, with the vessel scheduled to depart the port at 11 PM the same day before continuing its journey towards Motril.
