Ibiza’s new bus network has wrapped up its first peak season with a major rise in public transport use. Between April and September 2026, the island recorded 5,957,216 bus journeys, around 1.2 million more than during the same period in 2025. The increase represents a 25.8% rise in passenger numbers since the new transport concession launched in April.

Almost 6 Million Journeys: Ibiza’s buses carried 5,957,216 passengers between April and September 2026.
1.2 Million More Trips: The network recorded 1,219,748 additional journeys compared with the same period last year.
25.8% Increase: Overall passenger numbers grew by approximately 25.8% year-on-year.
August Was a Record Month: August reached 1,251,534 passengers, a 40.2% increase compared with August 2025.
More Services Ahead: The Consell is reviewing routes, frequencies and schedules with the aim of maintaining or strengthening services that remain in demand during winter.
