New Ibiza Law Limits Nighttime Alcohol Sales!
In a fresh attempt to manage “excessive tourism,” parts of Ibiza and other areas of the Balearic Islands are enacting stricter alcohol regulations. Starting this Saturday, these areas will see a significant reduction in alcohol availability during nighttime hours, with sales prohibited post 9:30 PM in places like San Antonio. This initiative is part of broader efforts to curb anti-social behaviours and maintain the quality of tourism in the region.
5 Things You Need To Know
Alcohol Sale Restriction: Alcohol cannot be sold in supermarkets from 9:30 PM to 8 AM in certain party areas of Ibiza.
Fines for Non-compliance: Individuals caught drinking outside authorised zones face fines ranging from €500 to €1,500.
Diplomatic Repercussions: Offenders may also be reported to their respective embassies.
Party Boat Regulations: New restrictions prevent party boats from approaching closer than one nautical mile to certain areas or picking up passengers within them.
Government Investment: An additional €16 million has been allocated by the Balearic government to improve tourist facilities, further supporting these regulations.
